Our History
In 1977 Joseph Bergfeld and his business partner, Bill Manser, started Pittsburgh Pipe in St. Louis, MO. They became part of the construction service industry and began supplying underground utility contractors with steel bore casing. Since that time, the company has grown from one location with just three employees to three locations with more than 70 employees. Our growth has allowed Pittsburgh Pipe not only to distribute steel casing pipe, but to manufacture and fabricate it as well.
Our three locations — St. Louis and Buffalo, MO, and Litchfield, IL — are strategically located in the center of the United States to allow for truck, rail, and river transportation. This helps get our products to our customers faster, allowing them to finish their jobs on time.
Our Dedication
Pittsburgh Pipe offers a broad array of products and services . We strive to be the best at what we do and to provide the best products. We put a lot of time and effort into making sure our steel pipe is the best in the industry. Our pipes have weld, surface and end prep appearance and quality that inspire great confidence in our products. Our manufacturing processes include 28 separate inspections and measurements to ensure our customers receive the best product for their project.
We not only strive to provide the best possible products, but we also give our clients top-notch customer service as well. Our employees are dedicated to supplying quality pipes and related products to the construction industry. Our knowledgeable team has been helping contractors complete their projects on time and on budget for over 40 years.
